Hello, All!
I haven't had time to update my poor blog lately, so I decided to post my facebook statuses to have a record of what has happened this past month. Sorry to my friends on fb for the repeats. :)
I had preeclampsia and several seizures this morning. Had an emergency csection around 11am. Violet Brynn McDonnell was born today, 1/29/12 at 3lb.8oz and 16"long. I'm feeling pretty good, just thirsty all the time. I should be able to go home by Wednesday. Violet will be here for around a month to gain weight. After that she will have to stay home for awhile. Greg is good. It's was a long day on him, poor guy was freaking out!
I was briefly removed from the iv, but the doc wasn't happy with fluid output. So I will be on it another day. After I get off the iv, then I can be moved from Labor and Delivery to the Mom and Baby unit to see my little girl. I was able to eat pretty much whatever I wanted today. Greg is amazing! He is right here when I need any little thing. :) January 30 at 5:45pm
V's birth is nothing like I thought. I never actually experienced labor. So I am apt to try for another child one day. It is bizarre to wake up one day pregnant and wake up a few hours later with a baby in nicu just at the snap of your finger! January 31 at 3:36pm

My blood pressure is still high, so at least another day in the hospital for me...maybe two. It is convenient with breast milk, though. The only thing that bothers me is that my boys miss me so much. So maybe I'll see them this weekend! February 1 at 10:14am
Just got back from the NICU. Violet is doing pretty well. The only thing they are still giving her via IV is sugar water. Her feeding tube has been removed and she's been keeping her food down today. They let me hold her for a few minutes while they changed her bed. She is under a light for jaundice. They are trying to keep those levels optimal. Violet is so precious and too cute! She kept looking around not knowing what to think. She even crossed her eyes at me and started hiccuping. :) I get to go to sleep, one happy mamma! February 2 at 12:43am
Had a interesting day. I felt great when I woke up and midday had a bout with a racing heart. So in the hospital another day, I stay. Violet has been doing pretty good. She lost some weight overnight, but she seems to have kept some down during the day. My grandmother got to hold her today! I was so excited for her. Hopefully, tomorrow, my mom will get to see her. :)
My heart is so full! Greg got to hold Violet today. They are truly my world! :D
Violet is doing really well, today. They are going to take out her IV line! She's also been keeping her food down and digesting it.
An update on me, blood pressure is still on the higher side, but within an acceptable range. No episodes today, so they will most likely send me home tomorrow. :)
Violet is up to 3.48 pounds now! Yay! She is keeping her food down. We are on an upward trend. :) February 4 at 7:25am
I'm so grateful for good insurance! I don't have to worry about anything but loving on my husband and baby. :D
Apparently, Violet is a feisty one! The nurse tonight said she has never seen a baby so small move with so much power. She managed to scoot herself up her inclined isolette to the very top and pushed herself sideways while she was sleeping! February 6 at 3:40am
Got to change my baby's diaper for the first time today. It cracks me up that her little butt is only three inches wide! lol :) February 6 at 11:07pm
Talked to Violet's doctor today. We are tentatively looking at 10 more days! :) That will bring her to exactly 3 weeks old. I hope it goes by fast. I'm looking forward to being home with us all together as a family! Staying here at the hospital while my wonderful hubby is at home is for the birds! :S February 8 at 11:06pm
Violet was weighed tonight. She's up to 4 pounds now! She can fit in her car seat now! Whoo hoo! :D February 10 at 10:53pm
I had a lovely baby shower yesterday. Thanks to D.d. Rbp, Mark Marks and my parents for all the hard work they put into it. I truly felt loved and I am honored that so many people came. My family and I are beyond spoiled! :) February 12 at 10:02am
Greg got off early today. Since they closed the nursery for half the day, we went shopping for baby stuff. It was so nice to spend the day with my hubs and just relax! I cherish every moment!
Today was a big day for Violet. She has been moved out of her isolette into a bassinet and we tried direct breastfeeding twice today! She continues to gain weight. She is now 4lbs 4.43 ounces. :)
Violet had her car seat test last night and passed. She is now rooming in with me. One step closer to home! Whoo! She's also 4lbs, 7oz. :)
Wow, what a crazy day already! We made it through the night by ourselves and we found out that we are being discharged today!!! We have to go down to MUSC to get a echocardiogram and then we'll be headed home! Can't wait to see my boys meet my little girl! February 17 at 11:05am
Today was a great day! I got to sleep in my own bed with my whole family all together again! After being in the NICU, Violet will sleep through any noise too. And lastly, my wedding rings and shoes fit again! Yay!
My husband loves me because he just laughed! I got two baby carriers in the mail and only remembered ordering one. Apparently, I like shopping online even when my memory is going in and out! I ordered them 8 days apart with the first one 3 days after V was born. Oops! LOL! February 20 at 11:05pm
Zippered onesies beat snaps any day! Violet prefers having clothes on and the faster I get her fixed up, the better! February 24 at 10:06am
Spending today with my family and my in laws. They came to visit Violet! Free babysitting is a bonus. Greg and I have already accomplished a huge grocery shopping trip. Yay! February 25 at 10:05am
Today Violet is one month old! Time really does fly! We go for a check up tomorrow and we'll see how much she has grown this week. She's already out of preemie diapers, but not quite out of preemie clothes. :)
Violet is now 17 3/4 inches and 5 lbs 9 oz. She gained 3/4 of a pound in one week and 3/4 inch in two weeks. She's catching up fast! February 27 at 7:32pm
Violet went to her first church service tonight. Grandpa got to hold her which made them both happy! :)

Alisha Kaye Parler McDonnell Thank you! My gal is a match to your guy in the beautiful department! ;) I can't wait til she grows some hair to see what she'll look like then! My fingers are still crossed for dark and curly. lol! V was being a booger to work with, but Brittany managed to get some good ones. I'm going through them and will post more soon. :)

Took a nice walk with Violet today. I just love our stroller! It's just us girls now that Daddy had to go back to VA. But we'll road trip to see him soon! March 11 at 3:39pm
I am generally not a kid/baby person. I was worried about having a baby and it driving me up a wall and being frustrated every day. But this little girl melts my heart every time I look at her! :) March 14 at 4:14pm
Today was so nice! Violet spent the day and night with her grandparents and I got to SLEEP!!! :) I also finished addressing her birth announcements, so they'll be in the mail tomorrow! March 18 at 2:20am
Can't believe it's only been a week since Greg left. Feels like this was the longest week ever! But I'm counting down until I can go see him! :) March 18 at 5:36pm
Finally got a chance to sit down at my piano. It would seem that pregnancy gave me another unwanted "gift". My voice has dropped a half an octave! No wonder I can't seem to sing on key any more...my voice cracks now! I never knew how much pregnancy affects every molecule of one's body. :( March 20 at 1:48am
After a month of eating fast food, Violet and I completed our first trip to the grocery store successfully! Looking forward to making something at home for a change. :) March 21 at 12:49am

Just got pooped on for the first time. Whoa, that was a big one! :S
Had such a fabulous day! I went to Olive Garden with my family and then Aunt Dawn took Violet for the rest of the day so I could have a "Mommy day". I got to shop til I dropped! So much fun! March 24 at 12:46am
