Pregnancy Goal Accomplished!

Today is a momentous day! I am officially as pregnant as I have ever been! Yesterday was my 34 week mark....the day I had Violet. I really had to laugh at myself though. The night before I had Violet, I was at my grandmother's house having Frito Pie for dinner. Well, I was making dinner for myself and made Frito Pie. I totally didn't realize what I had done until I was finished with dinner. Thankfully fate didn't happen!

I have a slight squishiness to my ankles, but no swelling anywhere else this week. Doc says there was a small amount of protein in my urine. We are not too worried right now about pre-eclampsia, but we went over the symptoms again. I feel like I look so much better with this baby. Because it is my last baby, I am grateful for the opportunity to look like a cute preggo! The baby is good. He moves a lot, but seems healthy right now. We are looking at Feb 25th for a c-section. I have decided to go that route for many reasons. If I go into labor before then, I'll give a VBAC a go. That's not a definite date, but it's what we're trying for.

As far as names, we keep coming back to Logan. In my head, the baby is still Blake, though. So we'll see. I have had the hardest time with decisions this time around!

We are preparing for a low key second birthday for Violet next week. I'm most looking forward to cake! ;) I will let myself cheat for that one day. The list of things I want after I get rid of this gestational diabetes is growing and growing!

Violet has been so so so sweet this past week. It has been amazing! I hope she's not getting it out before starting "the terrible two's"! ;)

Update

Wow, I'm just so good at blogging! Aren't you impressed? lol  I've decided to quit trying to catch up and just start where I am. So where am I?

I'm approaching 30 in a few months. While I don't think that is old, I have many goals to get life straightened out before then. I'd like to actually regularly clean my house so that it doesn't look like a disaster zone every single day. I need to become adept at managing our finances. We could be in a lot better position. I need to learn to cook and meal plan to save money. Eating fast food less would be so much healthier for our family. I'd like to learn how to sell stuff and get the max potential profit. Selling stuff also helps clean out the clutter from our lives.

I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant with our second child. It's a boy! This pregnancy has been soooooo different from the one I had with Violet. Minimal acne, no swelling, no carpal tunnel, and no eclampsia so far. The only complication I have with this one is gestational diabetes. This has been pretty hard for me to adjust to eating well. I love carbs and sweets! I'm keeping a food diary to encourage myself not to cheat and keep me accountable. I lack self discipline and I know it. As hard as it has been, I think getting the GD will help me make healthy changes to what I eat and the way I eat. I'd like to avoid getting diabetes later in life.

I have a few decisions to make before baby boy gets here. I need to decide VBAC or C section. I need to hurry up and decide on what his name will be. I'm such a commitment phobe! lol I need to finish cleaning out and decorating his nursery. I need to pull out the pack and play, swing and various other baby gear.

Violet is doing really well right now. We are finally in a groove that I'm happy with. To update, she started walking at 14 months while we were on our cruise and she was at her McDonnell grandparents' house. We can't stop her now. She truly is a monkey and very high spirited. She also started sleeping through the night at almost 15 months. This I'm truly grateful for! Now she goes to bed late (11-12a) but she sleeps nearly 12 hrs a night. I'm so in love with this schedule! It fits me perfectly! We do one nap a day for about an hour sometime between 4-6p. I'm able to sleep a full night and get up to get things done before Violet wakes. It's awesome! Just in time to be ruined by a newborn's schedule. lol ;)

Greg is doing well. He is still an instructor at the NNPTU here in Charleston. We are set to move again sometime at the end of this year. I so don't want to move! I have so much help from my family here and Violet can't get enough of her grandparents! Anyway, Greg got a motorcycle this year! He loves it and drives it to work every chance he can get. It worries me some, but I know he's responsible and it makes him happy. He so rarely asks for anything. I'm the spender in this family.

The dogs are well. They are really getting on my nerves lately. I'm not sure if it's pregnancy hormones or what, but they drive me crazy! Just this morning, I let them out for a half hour and just after I let them in, I found pee on my kitchen floor! I'm not sure what to do with them. I put them back outside and left them. I'm hoping things get better and I have more patience after baby boy comes. If not, I think the dogs are going to start living outside or in a crate. I don't have time to clean up their messes along with the kids too!

That is a mini update in a nutshell. Of course pics are soon to come. :)
